Ann Mason, Board President
Ann is our current Board President, as well as our Volunteer Coordinator and Educations Program Manager. She was born and raised in the Bay Area and has lived in Pacifica, CA for 23 years. She has been part of the Pacifica Gardens project from its inception and loves dirt. She received her MSW from UC Berkeley and is a clinical social worker in private practice in San Mateo.

Marj Davis, Board Treasurer
Marj has been a resident of Pacifica for over 30 years. She shares a love of nature and the outdoors with stewardship of the environment. She returned to Pacifica Gardens leadership as the Treasurer in Fall 2019. Marj is an avid gardener and has extensive experience in non-profit management having served in the past as President and Treasurer of Pacifica's Environmental Family. Marj was also a Board Member at the Pacifica Resource Center, is a member of Tree City Pacifica, and is a founding member of Pacifica Gardens. She has a BS in Business Management.

Fred Bové, Board Secretary
Fred is a lifelong gardener. During his tenure as Education Director at the SF Botanical Garden, he facilitated the first Permaculture Certification course in San Francisco and taught permaculture design classes at UC Berkeley Extension. Fred was a founding member of the Corona Heights Community Garden, and has volunteered at the Tenderloin Peoples’ Garden, Alemany Farm, and Double Rock Garden among others. Fred has been a UC Master Gardener since 2007.

Lisa Funkhouser,  Board Member
Lisa's love of gardening began in childhood, helping her father tend their vegetable garden from the time she could walk. After moving to Pacifica from Northern Virgina, she began volunteering at Pacifica Gardens in 2022 and has enjoyed learning about the unique challenges and rewards of garening in our local coastal climate. A former attorney and operations manager, Lisa brings strong organizational skills to the board while supporting the Garden's mission and community. Lisa joined the board in 2025. 

Barbara Hobe, Board Member
Barbara has been a gardener for most of her life. She was a UC Master Gardener while living in Southern California, helping with fruit tree chill hour research and pruning and grafting at the UCANR South Coast Research and Extension Center's rare fruit tree orchard. She began volunteering in the Garden in 2023 and brings decades of marketing experience  in advertising and food banking to her role as our marketing and communications manager. Barbara joined the board in 2025.
